Problem summary


    

  • VM resources like CPU and / or Memory can't be changed without
rebooting of the VM. This is a limitation in OpenStack.

    



Problem conclusion


    

  • Add following note to the documentation:

Note: Due to OpenStack limitations, vertical scaling (increasing
memory and CPU on running systems without stopping the service)
is not supported by IBM© Cloud Orchestrator. Only horizontal
scaling (increasing the number of virtual machines to balance
the workload) is supported when required by the scaling policy.
