Error description

• Cannot deploy AIX 61 image. Provisioning fails with the error:
  "Some virtual machines within the virtual system did not
  initialize correctly"

Problem summary

  * USERS AFFECTED: All users of SmartCloud Orchestrator 2.3
  * using AIX images
  ****************************************************************
  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
  * The virtual instance cannot be deployed successfully via
  * SmartCloud Orchestrator.
  * In SmartCloud Orchestrator UI the instance is stuck in the
  * status "Could not contact virtual machine over the network to
  * verify initialization". If logging into the deployed instance
  * the output of /opt/IBM/AE/AE.sh --version is 2.1.1+
  * The problem depends on the fact that the activation engine has
  * not been correctly updated by the synchronization process run
  * by Image Construction and Composition Tool.

Problem conclusion

Temporary fix

• The problem is in the activation engine bundle.
  The fix will be available with Image Construction and
  Composition Tool shipped with SmartCloud Orchestrator FP1
  
  Once obtained the new version of Image Construction and
  Composition Tool, the image needs to be extended once more,
  synchronized and captured.
  
  The resulting new image needs to be registered in IBM Workload
  Deployer component. You must update all patterns using the old
  image with the new one.
