APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Connection dropped and engine ends prematurely in some rare
  instances under TxSeries when there are multiple debug sessions
  active.
  

Local fix

Problem summary

• USERS AFFECTED:
  COBOL for AIX user using Debugger.
  
  PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
  This was a cumulative PMR. Client would observe:
  - Unresponsive UI upon a request to monitor a variable (from a
  CICS transaction, on AIX)
  -- Afterwards, inability to restart the CICS process without
  restarting the region, because the debugger would be in a zombie
  state.
  - "Connection lost message", causing lost transactions on CICS
  side.
  - Various slight variations on the above theme.
  
  
  CIRCUMVENTION:
  -Patched UI provided to the client
  -Patched engine provided to client.
  -Patched Cobol EE provided to the client.
  
  RECOMMENDATION:
  Use the patched Engine, UI, and Cobol EE.
  
  PROBLEM SUMMARY:
  UI problems were:
  Unable to remove breakpoints under TxSeries.
  
  Engine problems were:
  1. inability to sometimes handle cobol+cics+aix multiple
  sessions
  2. waiting for the Cobol EE to finish it's work (longer than the
  connection timeouts).
  3. Syspected crashing on low system memory
  

Problem conclusion

• The above issues have been corrected.
