Error description
This is an Internal APAR opened for a defect reported thru the RFE system: RFE28212 - Sort option in screen designer adding problem info to referenced fields. After using the sort option on the DDS source screen, fields that were moved that pick up their length, data type or decimals from a database reference, have those values hard coded in the field's DDS. If the referenced field definitions in the database are changed, the moved DSPF/PRTF fields will not no longer pick up the changes. In general, sorting fields should not change the source that is generate for each field. URL link to the RFE: http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/rfe/ execute?use_case=viewRfe&CR_ID=28212

While this does not cause an immediate problem, if the referenced field definitions in the database are changed, the moved DSPF/PRTF fields will no longer pick up the changes. In general, sorting fields should not change the source that is generated for each field. This problem is fixed in RDi 9.0.
