Error description

  • ODM 8.10 Rule Designer does not allow to install J2EE and
websphere tools. Updating and installing the WebSphere developer
tool to include the webSphere test environment plugin will fail
with following error:
Cannot complete the install because of a conflicting dependency.

Temporary fix


    

  • Using Rules Designer from update site:
- Install ODM selecting feature 'update sites for installation
into other eclipse products' (this will make Rules Designer
update sites available in  < ODM installation
folder>/studio/update-sites
- Get eclipse oxygen EE from
https://www.eclipse.org/downloads/packages/release/oxygen/3a/ecl
ipse-ide-java-ee-developers
- Open eclipse and install rules designer from update sites:
designer-base-update-site.zip then rule-designer-update-site.zip
- Using marketplace install Websphere Tools
