APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • When the rule project is configured with "Build automatically"
enabled ( or if the Settings configuration parameter teamserver.
build.elementOnCommit is set to true), the build of a newly
created rule artifact fails with an exception in the log such
as:
java.lang.StringIndexOutOfBoundsException
 at java.lang.String.substring(String.java:1109)
 at ilog.rules.teamserver.brm.builder.util.IlrBuildHelper.
computePrefixFilename(IlrBuildHelper.java:451)
 at ilog.rules.teamserver.brm.builder.IlrBuilder.doBuild(
IlrBuilder.java:557)
...

Local fix

  • commit a change to the newly created rule so that it can be
built ( only the automatic build upon creation of the rule
fails )

Problem summary

  • When build on commit is enabled the element just created is
searched in the database before it is actually committed.
This lead to inconsistent data retrieved.

Problem conclusion

  • The code is modified.
