Error description

  • Testing connection to an existing events server fails. The
problem can be seen when authentication is performed using LDAP.


The error see is
SECJ0369E: Authentication failed when using LTPA. The exception

is com.ibm.websphere.security.auth.
AuthenticationFailedException: [LDAP: errorcode 49 - LDAP Error

49 : Pre-authentication information was invalid.

Problem summary


    

  • The password is persisted scrambled and is not unscrambled when
passing for the server test

    



Problem conclusion


    

  • The code is modified to unscramble the test

    



Temporary fix


    

  • Deploy a sample project to test the connection and do not use
the test server button.
