APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Rational Developer for System z remote syntax check error
  message not displayed for include file which has $ in member
  name.
  
  When executing remote syntax check for source.pli, error message
  for include file INCL#$.pli (which has $ in its member name) is
  not displayed on remote system view.
  Error messages for PL/I source code and include file INCL#A are
  displayed.
  
  The customer uses IBM-1390 for PL/I source codes and include
  files But IBM-1399 is specified for:
     remote system view ? MVS File ? Properties ? host codepage to
  prevent alphanumeric characters in JOBLOG from becoming garbled
  .
  So, the include file having a problem is displayed as IBCL#$
  

Local fix

Problem summary

• The RDz client compared data set names of the host codepage set
  to the source file with  ones of the host codepage set to "MVS
  Files", so the client failed to find a data set which contained
  "$" in its name since the characters for code points of "$@#" in
  IBM-037 were changed in some codepages.
  

Problem conclusion

• The RDz client was fixed to use the host codepage of "MVS Files"
  in comparing.
  
  The problem listed in this APAR has been resolved with
  IBM Rational Developer for System z V9.0.1 Refresh Pack which
  is available from the Recommended Fixes support download page:
