PM96890: TWS FOR Z/OS FIXES FOR NEW Z/OS 2.1

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• problems with new z/OS
  found during internal testing of TWSz
  with z/OS 2.1
  a) JCC Problem.
     If JCC is set up to requeue a class output (for ex. H)
     to a different class (for ex. Q), with z/OS 2.1 this is
     not occurring anymore due to tthe different layout of
     the JES record with a wider CLASS field, changing the
     offset of the System ID.
  b) EXIT IATUX29 and IATUX19 Problem with JES3
     The IATUX29 and IATUX19 JES3 jobtracking exits are not
     working correctly becausethe z/OS release check is failing
     due to a different layout "Z/OS 2.1.0" where previously it
     was "Z 1.10.0"

  *                 FUNCTION=JCC,EXITS                           *
  ****************************************************************
  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Running TWSz in z/OS 2.1 it has been    *
  *                      found that:                             *
  *                      (a) JCC job requeue from one class to   *
  *                         another does not work.               *
  *                      (b) The Exit1 does not work for JES3.   *
  ****************************************************************
  * RECOMMENDATION: APPLY THE PTF FIXING THIS APAR               *
  ****************************************************************
  (a) The JCC requeue problem is due to the System ID which is
     wrongly picked up from the wrong offset in JES record due to
     a wider CLASS field in z/OS 2.1. For example in z/OS 2.1:
     '......STARTED - INIT 1    - CLASS A        - SYS MES4'
     while before z/OS 2.1 it was:
     '......STARTED - INIT 1    - CLASS A - SYS ES19'
  (b) EXIT1 Problem with JES3
     The EXIT1 for JES3 is not working in z/OS 2.1, since
     the z/OS release check is failing due to a different field
     layout 'z/OS 2.1.0' while before it was for ex  'z 1.10.0'

• Code has been changed to address both the problems.
