APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Scanning certain COBOL source files, the RAA Proprietary
    scanner hangs and never completes.
    

Local fix

  • Cancelling the aespanal.exe process stops the hang, although
    scanning the same programs again will re-introduce the hang.
    

Problem summary

  • WPS scanner was not treating all text in Optional comment-entry
    paragraphs in Identification Division as comments.
    

Problem conclusion

  • RAA scanner code changed to treat all comment-entry paragraph
    text as comments until the next paragraph or A-margin label.
