Description of problem:

The property 'Allow modeling tools (for example, UML) to
participate in file content during Accept - Logical Models -
com.ibm.xtools.model.ui.resources.modelProvider' that can be
found under the 'Window ? Preferences' menu in the 'Team ? Jazz
Source Control ? Model Enablement' tab is not enabled by
default.

On some occasions, this can lead you to lose your local changes
when you accept the incoming changes.

Steps to reproduce:

Simply open RSA on a new workspace and notice that this property
is not checked by default

Workaround:

You have to check this property manually. But to do that, you
need to be aware of this property's existence which is therefore
not very convenient.

Problem conclusion


    

  • Rational Team Concert provides very limited support for
logical model merge.  This feature of RTC was not tested
enough in combination with Rational Software Architect
products. There is high risk of wrong Compare/Merge behavior
when this option is used. Thus it is recommended to have it
disabled by default.
