PM94172: SETTING OUTPUTFORMAT OPTION USING THE SDK FOR REPORT DOES NOT WORK

Error description

  • You are supposed to set the options property, adding a
    RunOptionEnum.outputFormat element to change the default
    execution output format of a report.??However this does not work
    properly.??There are 2 different situations:??1.) No default
    execution format is defined in IBM Cognos Connection:?- You use
    the SDK to modify the options property of a report (e.g. to
    PDF), adding the RunOptionEnum.outputFormat element to it.?-
    Refreshing the view in IBM Cognos Connection, the report icon
    changes from HTML to PDF. Checking the report options in IBM
    Cognos Connection, it also says that PDF is the overwritten
    default output format. But when running the report, it will be
    executed in HTML (or more precisely with the output format the
    user defined in his personal settings, which is by default
    HTML).??2.) You define in IBM Cognos Connection a default output
    format, e.g. XML:?- You use the SDK to modify the options
    property of a report (e.g. to PDF), adding the
    RunOptionEnum.outputFormat element to it.?- Refreshing the view
    in IBM Cognos Connection, the report icon remains the icon for
    XML. Checking the report options in IBM Cognos Connection, you
    still see XML as the overwritten default output format. ?Running
    the report, it will be executed in XML.??In previous versions of
    IBM Cognos BI you could also modify the executionFormat property
    whoch resolved this issue. However, this property were
    deprecated since IBM Cognos 8.2 and was removed in 10.2.1.
