• Loop occurs when compiling a program using the NOTEST(DWARF)
  option.

• Use TEST, or the default NOTEST(NODWARF) option.

  With NOTEST, there is an added optimization to the compiler
  internal information that confused the part of the compiler
  that generates debugging information, causing the looping.
  

Problem conclusion

• The debugging information generation was changed to be tolerant
  of the extra NOTEST optimization.
