Error description

  • Rational Developer for System z 8.5.1 - RDz - CARMA Endevor
package comments not shown when opened with Endevor Package
editor.

There are cases when Endevor will add comments into a Package.
For example, when performing a CAST PACKAGE request with
'validate components (yes)',
Endevor may add comments in the package regarding other
components that should be processed.  These comments can not be
viewed/edited from the RDz
Endevor Package editor.

Local Fix:
Open/edit Package using the System z LPEX or Text editor.

Problem summary


    

  • The Package Editor ignores comments in the Source Preview
display and destroys any existing comments when the package is
saved.

    



Problem conclusion


    

  • Modified the code so that comments are visible in the Package
Editor, and comments associated with unchanged commands are
retained.

The problem listed in this APAR has been resolved with
IBM Rational Developer for System z V8.5.1.4 Fix Pack which
is available from the Recommended Fixes support download page:
