APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Display mode options on the symbols in the diagrams change after
  encyclopedia is upgraded from SA v11.4.1.2 to SA v11.4.2.2
  
  The problem only happens when clicking Yes to reapply default
  declarations, as a workaround the users can say No on this
  prompt. The display mode options will not be changed.
  

Local fix

Problem summary

• In newer versions of SA, the "default declaration" includes
  enabling SA-Focal Point integration. This, in turn, adds a new
  "Vendor" check-box to the list of displayable properties seen on
   the "Display Mode" dialog. The extra check-box confuses the
  logic of which check-boxes to enable when presenting the dialog.
  

Problem conclusion

• An easy workaround exists. In the mean time, we will investigate
   a better long-term solution.
  

Temporary fix

• Workaround: When an on old encyclopedia is being opened by a new
   version of SA, follow these steps:
  1. Say YES to "The encyclopedia schema is configured..."
  2. Say YES to "The default meta model is configured..."
  3. Say YES to "Would you like to reapply the default..."
   [STOP HERE]
  The current dialog being displayed should be "System Architect
  Property Configuration"
  4. Click on the "Advanced" button.
  5. Select "Focal Point" in the lower right "Property Sets" pane.
  6. Click on "Remove"
  7. Click on other "OK" buttons and allow the upgraded
  encyclopedia to open with correct Display Mode check-boxes.
