PM85759: TRUNCATED 'SHORT' SMF 116 SUBTYPE 0 RECORD. 13/04/19 PTF PECHANGE

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• The short SMF 116 subtype 0 record seen is missing the QWAC
  portion. It was found that this can happen if CSQWVZPA detects
  that the queue-manager is being stopped with MODE(FORCE).
  It's a result of the change made by APAR PM63798 (sets R15 to 0
  before checking for the queue-manager being stopped via
  MODE(FORCE).

  *                      UK81154 (V710) SMF records issued when  *
  *                      the queue manager has been stopped with *
  *                      MODE(FORCE) may be truncated, having a  *
  *                      length of 256 bytes instead of the      *
  *                      expected 432 bytes.                     *

  * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *

  After applying PTF UK79041 (V701) or UK81154 (V710) CSQWVZPS
  presets R15 to zero so that the CSQW124E error message is not
  issued at all. However if SCOMSTPF is ON (because the queue
  manager has been stopped MODE(FORCE)) then the QWAC portion of
  the SMF record is not created. Instead the code goes straight
  to EXIT returning the RC=0 to CSQWVZD1, which then proceeds to
  output the incomplete SMF record.
  

Problem conclusion

• CSQWVZPS and CSQWVZP1 have been changed so that no SMF
  accounting records will be produced when queue manager is
  terminating with MODE(FORCE).
