Error description

  • A client channel definition table ( CCDT ) is created with
CSQUTIL MAKECLNT. When the client channels connect, they have
some unexpected attributes. For instance, the CLNTCONN specifies
KAINT(AUTO) HBINT(300), but the CHSTATUS ends up with KAINT(0)
    HBINT(0).
    .
The unexpected values could also occur for attributes LOCLADDR,
    MAXMSGL, COMPHDR, and COMPMSG.
    .
The problem occurs if you run the MQ 7.0.1 CSQUTIL against
a 7.1.0 queue manager to create the channel table. There is no
problem if the CSQUTIL level matches the queue manager.
    .
There are a couple of differences in the output of the "bad"
    CSQUTIL MAKECLNT.
    1) There is a message
CSQU053E DISPLAY command response not recognized
and then the text of the next CSQM416I is not lined up well.
    Yet, the job ends with
CSQU058I 2 commands issued and responses received, 0 failed
    and
CSQU144I 1 COMMAND statements executed successfully
CSQU148I CSQUTIL Utility completed, return code=0
    .
    2) In the bad case, the display has
      HBINT( 300)
but the good case, the display has
      HBINT(300)
    .
CSQUTIL should be run against a queue manager of the same
    Version/Release/Modification. See
    http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/wmqv7/v7r1/topic/com.ib
    m.mq.doc/zm19680_.htm
However, CSQUTIL should not produce an incorrect CCDT entry for
a channel where the internal PCF response message contains
    unrecognized attributes.
    .
    L2 verification:
    - SupportPac MO72 can be used to review the contents of the
    table.
    - You can view the table in binary mode and check
UCLNT_Chl.Version to see what version of MQ was used to
    generate the table.

Local fix

  • Use the level of CSQUTIL that matches the queue manager.

    ****************************************************************
When CSQUTIL analyses the reply to a display command, it checks
all the attributes. When an unknown attribute is encountered,
message CSQU053E is issued reporting this. Processing continues
however, and CCDT output is generated if it was requested by
specifying the MAKECLNT with the COMMAND parameter.

Problem conclusion

  • The code was changed to not generate CCDT tables when an error
is encountered during the analysis of attributes causing message
CSQU053E to be issued and message CSQU039E will be issued.

The InfoCenter for MQ will be updated to add the following

CSQU039E: CCDT not created due to previous errors

    Explanation

The program was unable to create the client channel
defintion tables due to errors encountered.

    System action

The CCDT creation is skipped and the utility continues
    processing.

    System programmer response

Examine earlier error messages indicating problems with the
    channel or auth definitions.
