• Rational Developer for system z CARMA null pointer exception at
  first element open
  
  Connecting to Endevor via CARMA always fails the first open
  (double click on element). When retrying the operation, the
  member opens and the user can continue.

   PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:  When the user double-clicks on the
  element to open it, a null point exception may occur.
  Typically, the problem
  happens if the CARMA connection has not been established prior
  to double-clicking on the element name.

   Problem Resolution:  Null pointer exception was caused by the
  fact that the Stage ID for the element is not always available
  in this scenario.  Even if the Stage ID is not available, the
  element can still be opened.  A check was added to the code to
  bypass certain processing if the Stage ID is not available.
