Error description

  • AFTER MIGRATION TO WEBSPHERE MQ V710 MESSAGES THAT ARRIVED FROM
A DISTRIBUTED QUEUE MANAGER AND ARE PUT TO THE OTMA BRIDGE QUEUE
    RECEIVE CSQ2005I FEEDBACK CODE 292 (MQFB_DATA_LENGTH_NEGATIVE).

THE PROBLEM OCCURS DURING DATA CONVERSION. THE MQGET WITH
CONVERT INCREASES THE LL-FIELD OF THE FIRST SEGMENT BY 4 BYTES.

    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
The problem occurs during data conversion of an IMS Bridge
message by MQGET from a batch application. CSQAIVS6, which
processes data of format MQIMSVS, is converting 4 bytes beyond
each IMSVS segment. The problem only occurs when there is more
    than one segment.

In this case, the size of the segment data to be converted
incorrectly includes the size of the LLZZ.

If the updated LL value goes beyond x8000, for instance if the
segment is almost 32 KB, then CSQ2MTOO will detect this and
return an error (CSQ2_NACK_LL_NEGATIVE) to CSQ2QCP0.

Processing of subsequent segments may result in data corruption.

Problem conclusion

  • The calculation of the length of data has been corrected.
