**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: 01.system programmer * * 02.RDz users who use SSL client certificate * * 03.All RDz users * * 04.All RDz users * * 05.All RDz users * * 06.All RDz users * * 07.All RDz users * * 08.All RDz users * * 09.All RDz users * * 10.All RDz users * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: 01.missing quotes in sample CGI_ISPPREF * * definition * * 02.RDz client cannot connect to SSL * * server using client certificate. * * 03.Expanding a filter containing 40 000 * * datasets on RDz client takes more * * than 3 minutes. * * 04.There is not enough trace to show * * why a new threadpool server is * * started. * * 05.Multiple RDz RSE servers get * * *timeout* status, which is never * * reset. * * 06.Search fails with error owing to * * dynamic allocation failure * * 07.When doing a Remote Search on MVS * * filters, customer sometimes gets * * good results but sometimes the * * search hangs with message * * "Searching MVS Files : * * Waiting for server response". * * However, the Remote Search always * * works well when done directly on the * * PDS inside the MVS Filter. * * 08.The "...xx more" command at the top * * list of an RSE-filter with at least * * 2 filter strings does not display * * all the members. * * 09.When doing a Remote Search on PDS, * * customer has good response time and * * correct results for about the 2/3 * * first searches. Then, for the next * * searches (always on PDSs), the CPU * * is getting higher (till 70-80%) and * * results get wrong (Hits number * * decreases significantly for initial * * hits about 5000-6000, but for * * initial hits about 20, results * * remain OK). * * 10.enhancement to remove usage of * * volume RESERVE * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** 01.missing quotes in sample CGI_ISPPREF definition 02.RDz client sends a client certificate to the server but the server fails to read the certificate due to a timing issue. 03.The RDz server specify 25 as the number of the buffers for CVAFFILT API call. The small number of the buffers increses the number of CVAFFILT API calls. 04.There is not enough trace to show why a new threadpool server is started. 05.Open RSE thread and MVSminer thread are in contention in writing traces onto standard.out. 06.When RDz server executes listds command via TSO ISPF gateway, the ISPF gateway creates a temporary dataset and owns it during the search process. 07.The Remote Search on MVS filters had unnecessary steps which tended to write many log lines. So the log file was full and the server couldn't return the response. 08.The command for showing data sets couldn't handle multiple filter strings in one RSE-filter adequately. 09.The line information objects of the content search were persisted in the server. 10.enhancement to remove usage of volume RESERVE
Problem conclusion
01.added quotes in sample CGI_ISPPREF definition CGI_ISPPREF="&SYSPREF..ISPF.VCMISPF" 02.RDz server must wait for the client certificate to reach the server. 03.The use of the maximum buffers (255) would reduce the number of CVAFFILT calls by about a factor of 10. 04.When the heap usage is over the value specified by maximum.heap.usage.ratio,the following trace will be logged once INFO Over MaxHeapUsage: ProcessId=, Memory_Usage= When the heap usage become below the threshold after the heap usage was over the threshold, the following trace will be logged once: INFO Below MaxHeapUsage: ProcessId=, Memory_Usage= 05.Now, MVSminer is changed so that it should not write any data onto standard.out. 06.Now, RDz server skips the allocation error of the reason code 528: already allocated to the current task . 07.The server was fixed to remove the unnecessary steps in the Remote Search on MVS filters. 08.The RDz server and client were fixed to support the command which handled multiple filter strings in one RSE-filter adequately. 09.The RDz server was fixed to remove content line information objects after sending them to the client. 10.enhancement to remove usage of volume RESERVE
