  • APAR Error Description:
    Abstract: In Rational Developer for System z (RDz) version
    7.6.2.4, when opening a declaration from a COBOL file with
    numbering in column 1 to 7 in LPEX editor results in error:
    
    File Changed
    The file has been changed on the file system. Do you want to
    replace the editor contents with these changes?
    
    Problem:
    To reproduce:
    
    1) Open a COBOL file with numbering in LPEX, for example:
           01 temp         Pic x(30).
    
           Procedure Division.
    
    001315        Display 'RDz Support' temp
               Goback.
    
    2) modify it and save it
    3) modify it again (but without saving)
    4) click on variable temp
    5) press F3 (or context menu Open declaration): Error is raised
    that file has changed on file system.
    
    Local fix:
    There is no known workaround at this time.

    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
    In some situations, RD/z incorrectly displayed a message "The
    file has been changed..." when editing COBOL or PL/I programs
    using the System z LPEX editor and using the Open Declaration
    feature.
    

Problem conclusion

    PROBLEM RESOLUTION:
    RD/z does not incorrectly display the message "The file has
    been changed..." when invoking the Open Declaration function in
    System z LPEX for COBOL or PL/I programs with sequence numbers.
    
    The problem listed in this APAR has been resolved with
    IBM Rational Developer for System z V7.6.2.5 Fix Pack which
    is available from the Recommended Fixes support download page:
