Error description

  • Rational Developer for System z 8.0.3.3 - RDz - PL/I tooling is
    disabled when include statement contains 2 semicolons following
    member name.
    
    The following sample program and include member illustrates this
    problem:
    
    *PROCESS LIMITS(EXTNAME(31)) DFT(NOINITFILL) OPT(2);
     P06374: proc (BB) options(fetchable);
     DCL BB  ptr;
     DCL CC  char(80);
    
      %INCLUDE C06374;;
      %Include C06374B;
    
     end P06374;
    
    C06374 include member contents follow (i.e. does not end with
    ';'):
    
       dcl 1 A1,
         5 A2    CHAR(8),
         5 A3    CHAR(8),
    
    When opening this program with RDz PLI editor, annotation
    appears on this include statement( %INCLUDE C06374;; ) :
    'Include file contains the following error: ';' expected instead
    of this input'
    
    PL/I tooling icon indicates 'Tooling failed to initialize due to
    syntax error', even though program compiles successfully.
    
    This problem/error does not occur when opening the same program
    using RDz 8.5.0 client

Problem summary

    RD/z users who use PL/I programs with declaration statements
    that end with ,; (this can happen when an include file has a
    declare statement that ends with ,).

    PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
    RD/z incorrectly displayed warnings for declare statements in
    PL/I programs that ended with,; - this disabled the editor
    tooling for the PL/I program.

    RD/z does not display warnings for declare statements in PL/I
    programs that end with ,;
    
    The problem listed in this APAR has been resolved with
    IBM Rational Developer for System z V8.0.3.5 Fix Pack which
    is available from the Recommended Fixes support download page:
