Error description

  • Rational developer for System zEnterprise (RDz) v8.5

When using the Enterprise Explorer view, which is only
available in the Enterprise version of RDz, any files or
folders that start with a '.' such as .RemoteMapping are not
displayed in the Enterprise Development Perspective-?Enterprise
Projects view.

Therefore, the Pushable Manifest Editor cannot be opened.
These files can be opened in version 8.0.x and in RDz 8.5
standard edition from the z/OS Projects Perspective-?zOS
Projects view.

Workaround:
You can access these files/folder from the Navigator view.
To open the Navigator view select from the menu bar:
Window-?Show view-?Other-?General-?Navigator

Problem summary


    

  • RDz had a fixed filter on any files starting with a "."

    



Problem conclusion


    

  • Changed the filter to only exclude ".project" files since we
really don't want users updating those files.

The problem listed in this APAR has been resolved with
IBM Rational Developer for System z V8.5.1 Refresh Pack which
is available from the Recommended Fixes support download page:
