Abstract: Attempts to use Kerberos authentication for non-ASCII usernames (containing for example German umlauts) return kerberos.error_code == 6 (KRB5KDC_ERR_C_PRINCIPAL_UNKNOWN) when using the IBM JVM 1.6 contained in IBM Rational Application Developer 8.0.4.1. Problem: This issue was reported as IBM JVM APAR: IV27398 JGSS component does not support non-ASCII principal name. Local fix: There is no known workaround at this time
