Error description

• Abstract:
  
  Attempting to save changes to the WebSphere Portal Server
  Overview succeeds. However, after restarting the product the
  changes are reverted.
  
  Problem:
  
  You make a change to the WebSphere Portal Server Overview and
  save the change. After restarting the product you find that the
  changes have been reverted.
  
  Local fix:
  
  Close the server overview tab before exiting the product and
  your changes will be retained.

  The server editor values may be reset incorrectly if the
  server editor is open when a runtime is modified or if the
  product is restarted.
  

Problem conclusion

• The fix ensures that re-validation for the server editor
  only occurs when the runtime that corresponds with that
  server is modified.
  
  The fix for this APAR is included in Rational Application
  Developer v8.0.4.2.
