  • Abstract:

Attempts to connect to a DB2 v10 New Function Mode z/OS database
fails when trying to view the trigger text as nothing shows up.

Problem:

To replicate the problem, right click Trigger -? Generate DDL...
shows no ddl and right click Trigger -? Edit... shows 'Failed to
get source'.

Local fix:

The workaround is to go to the database to access the
information directly.

z/OS database with any of the following products.
RDz 8.0.3, 8.0.3.1, 8.0.3.2, 8.0.3.3
RDz 8.5
RAD 8.0, 8.0.1, 8.0.2, 8.0.3, 8.0.4, 8.0.4.1
RAD 8.5

PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
After connecting to a DB2 v10 NFM for z/OS database in the
Data Source Explorer with the above mentioned products.
Right Click Trigger -? Generate DDL... generates no ddl.
Right Click Trigger -? Data -? Edit... will display "Failed
to get source".

RECOMMENDATION: The workaround is to go to the database
catalog directly in order to access/view trigger text.

    



Problem conclusion


    

  • The SYSIBM.SYSTRIGGERS catalog for DB2 v10 NFM for z/OS has
changed. Trigger text has been moved from the TEXT column to
the STATEMENT column. Code has been added to take this into
account.
