Error description
Abstract: Attempts to open a XHTML file in Rational Application Developer for WebSphere might result in a hang. Problem: When opening a XHTML file that contains URLs that do not resolve to images, the product hangs. The same XHTML file opens fine using the 7.5.5.5 release. Local fix: There is no known workaround at this time.

Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** The hang is due to an infinite loop while attempting to convert relative paths for conditions like this #{facesContext.externalContext.requestContextPath}/theme/ima ges/corePage/myImage.gif
Problem conclusion
Relative paths like the one mentioned will now remain unchanged to prevent the infinite looping from occurring. The fix for this APAR is included in Rational Application Developer v8.0.4.2 and v8.5.1.
