Error description
Customer is seeing a delay of around two minutes before a report prompt page is presented. Once the page has been completed and submitted, the report then runs in around one to two minutes. Other reports within the same Package do no exhibit this behaviour.??Initial in-house investigations had focused on one of the Measures within the first Query. This was altered to be a Calculated Measure, and whilst this resulted in an improvement in the prompt page being presented (around 15 to 16 seconds), the customer did not see the same results on site and it was later found that the change caused incorrect display within the report. It was also found that the report failed validation with a number of circular reference errors, both in-house and on-site, before any report changes were made: the customer is continuing to investigate these but is unable to locate the source. It is not known if these are in fact the cause of the performance issues: they are also mentioned in the log files but the time stamps would appear to indicate that they occur simultaneously.??Further QFW and RSVP tracing has been requested and received from the customer and are attached to this CQ. The customer has also itemised the test case steps performed and this is documented in the attached spreadsheet. From the cogserver.log, it would appear that there are considerable delays in the time taken for the NativeQuery steps to complete??The customer has also Published the Package under a different name as DQM enabled. The report was migrated and when tested in-house, the prompt page returned in four seconds, although once again the same was not seen at the customer site, although the customer has confirmed that the DQM report versions are generally quicker and will be used in the longer term.??However, the customer wishes to continue to use the existing reports and is querying the general prompt page presentation time and report performance. In view of this:??Q: Is there anything in the logs that could indicate the cause of the delays being seen??Q: Are there any further parameters or TM1 settings that could employed to identify the possible NativeQuery delays or the cause for the general poor performance?
