PM69162: CAM-CRP-1057 ERROR WHEN LAUNCHING CONFIGURATION ON HP-UX USING AN EXTENDED HOSTNAME

Error description

• When launching Cognos configuration (using cogconfig.sh), client
  receives the following error:??"IBM Cognos Configuration was
  unable to successfully use the cryptographic information with
  the current Java Runtime Environment located at:
  <cognos_install>/java1.5/jre.?The appropriate JAR files must be
  installed in the Java Runtime Environment referred to by
  JAVA_HOME?Details:?CAM-CRP-1057 unable to generate the machine
  specific symmetric key"???This only occurs when HP-UX is
  configured to use an extended hostname (hostname greater than 9
  characters).
  

Local fix

• Setting uname_eoverflow to 0 can prevent the issue from occurrin
  g. This can be achieved by running the command:
  
  kctune uname_eoverflow=0
  
  However, this can potentially lead to undesired behavior. See th
