Error description

  • In ER RATLC01538226, dev team provided a testfix to mark
unresolved links in mode as a short term workaround, and raised
a RFE RATLC02503105 for complete solution, now RFE is in
    development cycle.

After client upgraded to new version 8.0.4.1, client found that
the testfix is not included in 8.0.4.1, they need the testfix to
resolve the unresolved links in model, so they request us to
provide testfix for both 8.0.4 and 8.0.4.1.

I discussed with Manoj from dev team, was told that we'd better
to create an APAR to track this, so the testfix can be included
from 8.0.4.1 and onwards new releases, and also, the RFE is to
provide solution for general mode, the testfix is for specific
object diagram, so it 's good to have testfix in RSA.

So I created this APAR to track above, please help to provide
testfix for both 8.0.4 and 8.0.4.1, and include the testfix in
    onwards new RSA releases, thanks

    ****************************************************************
When association is deleted in Class digram, the closed
object digram elements keeps the reference of the
association. If the Object model is opened now, it tries to
resolve the referenced association from the class model
which in turns resolves to a dangling association that is
not associated with the actual class elemen. This results in
an NPE and the the object diagram does not open at all.

Problem conclusion

  • Removing those kind of association when we try to open the
    object diagram.
