PM66888: Rational Developer for System z (RDz) Copy and paste the file within the same local project fails

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Rational Developer for System z - RDz - v8.0.3.2
  Copy and paste a file within the same local project fails with
  the  message 'xxxx already exists' even though specifying a
  different file name.
  
  Re-creation steps:
  
  1. Create new Local Project (new ? project ? Workstation COBOL
  or PL/I)
  2. Create a file in the project.
  3. Copy the file and paste the file in the same folder.
  
  4. Popup comes up as you are trying to copy the file with
  duplicate name.
  
  5. Specify the new name in the 'Rename to' field
  
  A dialog information window opens up with the following message:
  
  'Copy Resources' cannot be performed.
  
  Reason: Resource cannot be moved or copied to the same location
  and name'
  

Local fix

Problem summary

• An incorrect call was being made from PBResouceMvsCopyUtils to
  the Eclipse CopyResourceOperation utility.
  

Problem conclusion

• A different constructor that included the new file name
  resolved the issue.
  
  The problem listed in this APAR has been resolved with
  IBM Rational Developer for System z V8.0.3.3 Fix Pack which
  is available from the Recommended Fixes support download page:
