Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** Under certain conditions, an ABEND was occurring in the DTSI module because of heap memory management. The call to the system function was not doing a heap acquire on the string variable, even though it was doing a heap release.
Problem conclusion
The modification of the compatibility factory, to make sure that when functions are invoked, that the statement generator order item, indicating that a function was being invoked, was set. This causes a heap acquire to be made to correspond with the heap release. This fixed the 0C1 abend problem.
