Error description

  • If multiple CICS servers are in use, CS_IAVRESP (average CICS
response time) is calculated from the number of requests flowed
to a single CICS server, and an incorrect value of 0 is written
to SMF. However if CS_IAVRESP is collected through the SDSF
    interface (by using the command
    "/F <jobname>,APPL=STATS,GS=CS_IAVRESP"), or through the
statistics API, the returned value is correct.

    * might be incorrect when multiple CICS *

    ****************************************************************
Interval statistics are calculated, written to SMF, and reset
ready for the beginning of the next interval. If multiple CICS
servers were defined, CS_IAVRESP was calculated using the
number of requests flowed to only one of the defined CICS
servers. This caused the value of CS_IAVRESP that was written
to SMF to be incorrect. When retrieving a value for CS_IAVRESP
using the SDSF interface or the statistics API, the value
    returned was correct.

Problem conclusion

  • CICS TG has been corrected. The number of requests sent to all
defined CICS servers is used when calculating the value of
    CS_IAVRESP.
