Error description

  • The RDz LPEX Editor is used for syntax check or content assist
for a program with EXEC DLI statements.

This line in an EXEC DLI GN statement is flagged as an error:

    ... WHERE (SOMETHING =? SOMETHING-ELSE .....
The =? (equal or greater than) is tagged with
    ''ERROR TOKEN' unexpected tokens ignored.'
The combination =? (equal or less than) is also flagged.
The Host CICS Translator and the Enterprise COBOL Integrated
Translator, both allow =? and =? in EXEC DLI statements between
the EXEC DLI and END-EXEC directives.
    NOTE:

The Host Enterprise COBOL compilers allow ?= and ?= but not =?
and =? in standard COBOL statements.
COBOL compiler rules should not be applies to code between EXEC
    DLI and its related END-EXEC.
The =? and =? should be allowed in the EXEC DLI context only
(but not in regular COBOL statements.)

Local fix

  • Change => to >= and change =< to <=

Problem summary

  • The => and =< operators were not allowed within EXEC DLI
statements. Instead, a warning annotation was issued by the RDz
    real-time syntax check parser.

Problem conclusion

  • The => and =< operators are now allowed within EXEC DLI
statements by the RDz real-time syntax check parser.
