  • TCP ACK delays in multisite syncreplica export results in long
    lock held times.

Local fix

Problem summary

  • this is to fix a TCP buffer read poll wait issue for multitool
syncreplica -export process by setting up TCP NO_DELAY option.
It is noticed that while talking to DB server, multitool
process somehow repeatedly wait for about 40ms to read from TCP
buffer after several reads. To suppress this option setting,
set up an environment variable CLEARCASE_SUPPRESS_NODELAY
    before running multitool command.

Problem conclusion

  • A fix is available in ClearCase versions 7.1.2.7 and 8.0.0.3
