Error description

  • The Attribute features settings shows different behavior when
opening a module in Read-only mode and Exclusive Edit mdoe.
The issue is not seen when creating attribute manually. However,
the issue occurs when using DXL code to create attributes that
may or may not be a DXL attribute.
    Here's some sample code:
    string dxlCode = 'print \'HI\''
create object type 'String' inherit false
      //-
multi false dxl dxlCode changeBars true //-
date true history true attribute 'theDXLAttr'
    - The code will create an attribute called 'theDXLAttr'.
    - Close and re-open the module in read-only mode and you'll see
    that the settings are checked.
    - Close and re-open the module in Exclusive Edit mode and you'll
see that the settings are NOT checked.

UI is inconsistent when showing a DXL attribute in read-only
    and edit modes.

Problem conclusion

  • Attribute features are not applicable to DXL attributes, so
setting or not setting them has no effect. Toggling the DXL
setting (when in edit mode) will always take the current
    defaults for those attributes.

The problem is really just that the dialog shows different
things in read-only vs edit modes. Making the read-only
mode do the same thing as edit mode (by explicitly clearing
the feature checks when DXL is checked) makes the behaviour
    consistent, and fixes the issue.
