Error description

  • cleartool checkvob -ucm fails with error  'cqintsvr RPC protocol
    error: no data, cannot get activity' on Unix
    
    Steps to repro:
    Set up CC/CQ UCM integration on unix ( reproduced on AIX).
    Create large number of CQ records and associate them on CC side
    while checking in files.
    Run the command
    cleartool checkvob -ucm -crm_only ?project:<project>@/<PVOB>
    
    It fails after running for time
    cleartool: Error: cleartool: Error: INTERNAL ERROR detected and
    logged in '/var/adm/rational/clearcase/log/error_log'.
    cleartool: Error: cqintsvr RPC protocol error: no data
    
    cqintsrv process crashes and creates a core in /tmp.

    On a CC\CQ UCM Unix integration, when running the "cleartool
    checkvob -ucm" command against a very large number of CQ
    records, users may receive the following error message after
    a long time:
    
    cleartool: Error: cleartool: Error: INTERNAL ERROR detected
    and logged in "/var/adm/rational/clearcase/log/error_log".
    cleartool: Error: cqintsvr RPC protocol error: no data
    

Problem conclusion

  • A fix is available in ClearQuest 7.1.2.7 and 8.0.0.3
