APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • When an invalid parameter value has been specified in the
DSSGROUP section of the CICS TG configuration file, the
Gateway daemon writes the following message to the error log:
CTG6533E Unable to read the configuration file: 'com.ibm.ctg.s
      erver.configuration.exceptions.ConfigurationException: java.l
      ang.reflect.InvocationTargetException'.
The Gateway daemon correctly fails to start.
The error log message does not contain enough information to
allow the user to determine the cause of the Gateway daemon
    startup failure.

Local fix

  • Ensure the DSS policy section of the CICS TG configuration file
    contains correct parameter values.

    ****************************************************************
An invalid parameter value is specified in the DSS policy
section of the CICS TG configuration file. This invalid value is
preventing the Gateway daemon from starting. The following
message is output to the error log:
CTG6533E Unable to read theconfiguration file:
      'com.ibm.ctg.server.configuration.exceptions.ConfigurationExce
      ption: java.lang.reflect.InvocationTargetException'.

The error log message does not contain enough information to
allow the user to determine the cause of the Gateway daemon
    startup failure.

Problem conclusion

  • When an invalid parameter value is specified in the DSS policy
section of the configuration file, CICS TG provides additional
information in the output error log message.
