  Attempts to edit Java source files result in
  NullPointerException in the method:
  com.ibm.rational.llc.internal.ui.editor.CoverageAnnotationSynchr
  onizer$CoverageAnnotationListener.documentChanged

  These steps reproduce the problem:
  
  1. You edit Java Source files.
  2. When you open the workspace\.metadata\.log file you find
  errors like:
  
  java.lang.NullPointerException

Problem conclusion

• Various null checks have been added to address the reported
  problem.  The fix for this problem is included in Rational
  Application Developer versions 8.0.4.1 and 8.5.
