well but when they upgraded to RFT 8.2.1.1 (where the test fix
available out of the box) - RFT 8211 is unable to recognize the
control at the last third level domain, which is applet.

RFT recording : Nested domain (Eclipse -? Swt browser -?Java
Applet) does not work with RFT

Problem conclusion

  • Here is the summary of the two issues reported on this
    escalation:

    1) In the nested domain (Eclipse -? Swt browser -?Java
Applet) structure, nothing gets recorded in the Java Applet
control. This has been resolved by properly packing the
customer's application. The detailed solution is documented
in the defect RATLC01538395, please refer the update
    "2/27/2012 11:46:56 AM"

    2) Application under test crash - the crash appears to fixed
by using the enabled JRE in the RFT. The customer was
launching the application using a Window batch file which
was using a default JRE from the PATH, ant it was NOT
enabled in the RFT. The solution is - set a desired JRE path
in the command prompt before starting a application,
otherwise enable the default JRE that was used by the AUT.

Customer has confirmed without any fixes the customer is up
and running. The customer has requested to close this defect
    as no fix required.
