APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • APAR Error Description:
    Abstract: When you try to add a user to an Asset Type Constraint
    using IE, the 'Add and Close' and 'Add' button do not add the
    user.
    Problem: Steps to recreate the problem are:
    
    1) You edit your Asset Type.
    2) You Select the Constraints tab.
    3) Under the Attribute Constraints, you edit a constraint.
    4) In the Configure Constraint box, you select the 'Allow only
    the select users to change the attribute value' radio button.
    5) You select the Add button.
    6) You enter a user in the user field.
    7) You select the user from the text box.
    8) You select 'Add and Close' or Add.
    
    Result: Neither button add the user. In the Script error for IE
    (Tools ? Developer Tools ? Script tab) the following error is
    logged:
    
    'selected' is null or not an object
    
    
    Local fix:
    The workaround is to use Firefox to add a user to the Asset Type
    Constraint.

    This problem occurs in IE8 only and workaround on RAM v7.5.1
    is to Firefox.
    Also this problem was tracked and fixed via Jazz work item

    For some reason, one of the select options was null. Added a
    check to see if the option is non-null before accessing it.
