PM55112: SQL SERVER FUNCTIONS FAILS WITH RQP-DEF-0177 WHEN RUN OUTSIDE OF A PACKAGE

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Customer running Cognos BI 8.4.1 who previously was running
  Cognos Impromptu/IWR.  This customer had setup a user defined
  function in Impromptu for InitCap function.  PMR 76783,442,000
  had been logged on behalf of this customer to setup InitCap user
  define function in the Cognos8 model.  The function can be
  accessed in Framework Manager.  It appears that it can not be
  accessed in Report Studio, and Query Studio.  It generates:
  RQP-DEF-0177 An error occurred while performing operation
  'sqlPrepareWithOptions' status='-56'.  This issue is reproduced
  in IBM Cognos 10.1.1.
  

Local fix

• Do not use user defined function in Report Studio.
