Error description

  • Java out of memory error when viewing a large HTML report in a
Cognos Viewer portlet. (the PRS  error changes everytime but the
underlying out of memory is always there)  PRS-INS-1425  An
error encountered executing operation request. Details
java.lang.OutOfMemoryError  Stack trace gathered from the XTS

 Running that same report from IBM Cognos Connection directly
works without a problem.  The important observation to note is
the memory consumption for the JAVA process when comparing
running the report from public folders (report viewer) VS
running the report in a Cognos Viewer portlet.  We can see that
the JAVA memory grows very high when going through the portlet,
eventually surpassing the JAVA heap memory.
