Error description

  • Description: Error: Id # ?Document_Type_ID? (Definition,
xxxxy) missing GUID) is seen in ?Verify and Repair log file?
which is been generated for an encyclopedia. This is a result of
a bug in System Architect because in System Architect assigns
GUID, and manages GUID. Hence it should not lead to ?missing? or
    invalid GUID errors.

Expected Result: System Architect should be able to indentify
invalid/missing GUID value for the underlying file table of an
artifact in order to get past the GUID errors.

Actual Result: Currently in System Architect the underlying
file table of an artifact does contain invalid / missing GUID
value which System Architect is unable to identify. This might
be caused because of improper import of the data or misleading
operation carried out on that artifact. Hence leading to GUID
    error as mentioned below :

Error: Id # ?Document_Type_ID? (Definition, xxxxy) missing GUID.

    Steps to Reproduce:

    1. Launch System Architect.
    2. Open an encyclopedia in System Architect.
    3. Run ?Verify and Repair? for the encyclopedia and notice the
error message mentioned below in the ?Verify and Repair log
    generated? :
Error: Id # ?Document_Type_ID? (Definition, xxxxy) missing GUID
is seen in ?Verify and Repair log file? which is been generated
    for an encyclopedia.

We can get past the error message by following the suggestions
    mentioned below:

Identify the diagram name, the artifact belongs to and select
all the artifacts present on the diagram canvas .

Ie; Select Ctrl-A, followed by Ctrl-X ?? Ctrl-V. Then save the
    diagram.

Alternatively, you may select all the artifacts present on the
diagram canvas and move them slightly. Now save the diagram

The above suggested method is a manual way of getting past the
    error message.

When there are many 1000?s of this error the manual fix advice
is not really helpful. Client generally imports the data by
    performing CSV import/export activity.
