Error description

  • Using the Apple Store iPad Cognos Mobile App, client is logging
    into Cognos Connection and viewing their My Folders / Recent
    Reports.??When attempting to save the report to the iPad, the
    output is not retained.????Workaround: To use iTunes software in
    order to upload the report outputs to the mobile device.

    * Fixed in IBM Cognos Mobile iPad app release 10.1.1.1         *

    * The behavior for disconnect content is the following:        *
    *                                                              *
    * - reports (active reports, or otherwise) that are viewed on  *
    * the iPad native client are implicitly "available locally" on *
    * the iPad.  The content is encrypted, based on the users      *
    * Cognos credentials. There is no explicit "make local"        *
    * option. All the local content is available in the "Reports   *
    * on My iPad" tab"                                             *
    * - reports have a fixed "lease" time (which can be changed    *
    * through an advanced  property on the Cognos server). Local   *
    * content can still be viewed when disconnected from Cognos,   *
    * for a period of time up to the lease duration. After that,   *
    * the user must reconnect to the Cognos server  and            *
    * re-authenticate to refresh the lease, before being able to   *
    * access the local content again.                              *
    * - explicitly logging out from Cognos, also clears the        *
    * credentials/the lease. (The user shouldn't click the logout  *
    * button, if they want to keep their "credentials logged in"   *
    * for local content access.)                                   *

    * - there is an issue in the RP1 release of the iPad client    *
    * (that has been addressed in the RP1-FP1 release) that the    *
    * lease information wasn't persisted over restarts of the      *
    * Cognos mobile process on the iPad. (so if the app was closed *
    * and the Cognos process was terminated - e.g. because other   *
    * apps forced it out of memory, or the ipad was rebooted),     *
    * then the lease information was lost and the local content    *
    * could not be accessed (even if the lease period hadn't       *
    * expired, or the user hadn't explicitly logged out of         *
    * Cognos). This has been fixed in the RP1-FP1 IBM Cognos       *
    * Mobile iPad app.                                             *
    *                                                              *
    * - content added through iTunes, since it isn't coming from   *
    * the Cognos server, isn't secured in a similar manner (a it's *
    * already "outside the Cognos secured zone" ).                 *
