Error description

  • On a Windows 2003 server, install Rational Synergy 7.1 with the
informix server
Check the informix config file ONCONFIG
You will see the following entries:

DUMPDIR $INFORMIXDIR    mp
BAR_ACT_LOG $INFORMIXDIR    mpar_act.log
BAR_DEBUG_LOG $INFORMIXDIR    mpar_dbug.log
##

instead of the values from the onconfig.std file:
##
DUMPDIR $INFORMIXDIR\tmp
BAR_ACT_LOG $INFORMIXDIR\tmp\bar_act.log
BAR_DEBUG_LOG $INFORMIXDIR\tmp\bar_dbug.log
##

The windows installer for informix is interpreting the
characters:
'\t' in '\tmp' as a Tabulation.
'\b' in 'bar_....' as a Backspace
