PM47125: Error re-indexing indices in Rational Change

Rational Change Fix Pack 3 (5.3.0.3) for 5.3

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Re-indexing a database with test fix failed.
  
  Using the search from the UI, returns 'CRCHG0539E Search is not
  configured. Contact your administrator.'
  But the 'Search' tab in the Admin UI looks fine.
  There are several kind of index-related errors in event.log.
  
  Error #1:
  ERROR: java.io.IOException: No sub-file with id _5r8.fdt found
  
  
  Error #2:
  ERROR: java.io.FileNotFoundException: ../index/_hkq.cfs (No such
  file or directory)
  ERROR: Failed to optimize search index.
  
  Error #3:
  ERROR: java.io.FileNotFoundException: ../index/_bdx.cfs (No such
  file or directory)
  
  Error #4:
  ERROR: Failed to retrieve username cache information.
  Stack trace:
  javax.naming.directory.InvalidSearchFilterException: Unbalanced
  parenthesis; remaining name 'ou=people,dc=telelogic,dc=com'

• Fixed in IBM Rational Change Fix Pack 5.3.0.3
  

Temporary fix

Comments

• This issue was not reproducible locally. Based on static code an
  alysis we had found another related issue and have fixed it in a
  ssociated task. This fix shall be available in the forthcoming 5
  .3.0.3 patch. Since the customer who faced this issue is not mov
  ing to the release(5.3) in which the issue was originally reprod
  uced and are not going to test this, we are closing this APAR.
