Error description

  • The option 'Automatically check for view updates' fails to run
in IBM Rational ClearCase Remote Client (CCRC) 7.1.2.2 and
    higher.

    Steps to reproduce the issue:

    1) Launch ClearCase Remote Client.

    2) Navigate to Windows ? Preferences ? ClearCase Remote Client ?
    Integration ? View Updates.

    3) Enable the checkbox 'Automatically check for view updates'.

    4) Select a view in the drop-down menu.

    5) Click Add.

    6) Leave the Day column set to 'Daily'.

    7) In the Time column, select 'Every 15 minutes'.

    8) Click Apply, then OK.

    9) In another ClearCase view which uses the same config spec as
the first view, perform a checkout of a file, make a
modification, check the file back in.

    10) Toggle back to the original ClearCase Remote Client view and
    wait at least 30 minutes.

The 'Update from Repository' icon in ClearCase will fail to
blink green to signify a view update should be performed.

    WORKAROUND:

    - The only workaround is to periodically update the view
    manually.
