PM46438: Rational Developer for System z (RDz) Open Hierarchy fails when 'ERROR_TOKEN' unexpected token(s) ignored exists

APAR status

Error description

  • 'Open Perform Hierarchy' is greyed out unexpectedly.

We discovered that a specific error was causing this issue.
If the program contains the error:
'ERROR_TOKEN' unexpected token(s) ignored
Then the 'Open Perform Hierarchy' cannot be performed.

In this case the error condition was for the following line:
01  HV-BLOB-DATEN          USAGE IS SQL TYPE IS XML AS BLOB(1M).


The above is in fact a valid statement, but the RDz COBOL editor
is flagging it as an error.
This apar is being opened to change the RDz COBOL editor so that
the type of XML AS, CLOB-FILE and BLOBL-FILE will be recognized
as valid and not produce the 'ERROR_TOKEN' error.

Problem summary


    

  • Certain SQL TYPE IS clauses in a data declaration were being
incorrectly flagged as invalid.  Those containing XML AS,
BLOB-FILE, CLOB-FILE or DBCLOB-FILE.

    



Problem conclusion


    

  • XML AS, BLOB-FILE, CLOB-FILE, DBCLOB-FILE is supported in SQL
TYPE IS clauses in data declaration in the latest release.

The problem listed in this APAR has been resolved with
IBM Rational Developer for System z V7.6.2.3 Fix Pack which
is available from the Recommended Fixes support download page:
