Error description

• The WebSphere Application Server may not start when using the
  generated startup script option as a result of the generation
  hanging and preventing the server from starting.

  There is a known issue, depending on the platform, with
  java.lang.Process where there is a limited buffer size for
  standard input and output streams.  A failure to promptly
  write to the input stream or read from the output stream of
  the sub-process may cause the sub-process to block or even
  deadlock.
  

Problem conclusion

• The fix for this APAR is included in Rational Application
  Developer v8.0.4.
